Article Analysis

Lily Allen VS Taylor Swift

Today I have been looking at the way articles are written to attract certain audiences. The way language is used will attract certain people. Aggressive words will be more suited to a rock audience rather than a pop one. This is because you would relate a pop audience to a young female audience and they wouldn't want lots of harsh and aggressive words on it  therefore its not put in.
This is why Lily Allen targets her audience by being more daring or "outrageous" as some would say. She does this by the way she dresses and as you can see the image below she is wearing dark dramatic make up and she is holding a smoking cigar. Could you imagine Taylor swift doing that? No because she has a squeaky clean image(maybe not including her relationship status)  although not everyone is lucky. Swift doesn't swear in any of her music and this is to fit with her target audience. She aims for a young female audience and therefore needs to be a good role model however Allen doesn't have that approach. She doesn't aim for the clean image as she doesn't have to be a role model for people.
For my magazine I will make sure that there is minimal swearing but there may be some. This is because I am not creating a pop magazine. I want it to be realistic as if you are listening to the artist talk. I don't what there to be any falseness in the article I want it all to feel real.
